The 31st International Peace Tour (Course de la paix) was a cycling race that was held from May 10th to 24th, 1978.

The 31st edition of this bike race consisted of 12 individual stages and led over a total length of 1796 km from East Berlin via Prague to Warsaw . The team winner was the Soviet Union . The best climber was Krzysztof Sujka from Poland .

After his victory in the 7th stage, Alexander Awerin was able to move from 16th place in the overall standings to 1st place thanks to an 80 km solo trip.
