Burkhard Freese

Burkhard Freese (* 1954 in Kyritz ; † 19th December 2013 in Berlin ) was a German cyclist and DDR -Master in cycling .

Athletic career

Freese started cycling with SG Dynamo Kyritz and later started for SC Dynamo Berlin . He was twice, 1977 and 1979 GDR master in the criterion . He was able to win the season opener Berlin – Bad Freienwalde – Berlin twice. Freese finished fourth in the GDR tour in 1977 and was used as a member of the GDR national team in other country tours of the amateurs. In 1978 he took part in the International Peace Tour, which he finished in 37th place. He was also a good cross-country rider and won a number of races here. When his brother Uwe Freese won the title in 1979, he took third place.

In total, he recorded 37 victories in his career, which he ended in 1980.

Freese ran a bike shop in Berlin.

He is the brother of Uwe Freese , with whom he competed in the SC Dynamo Berlin race.
