Dominique Dupuy (born May 16, 1812 in Lectoure ; † September 23, 1885 ibid) was a French clergyman and naturalist. Its official botanical author's abbreviation is " Dupuy ".

Life

He was a member of the Société Départementale d'Agriculture et d'Horticulture du Gers , the Société Botanique de France and the Société d'Histoire Naturelle de Toulouse . In 1873 he became a Knight of the Legion of Honor .

Abbé Dupuy, who was ordained in 1837, was a teacher in the schools of the Archbishop of Auch , first from 1833 as professor of mathematics and natural history in Gimont and from 1837 to 1873 professor of natural history at the Small Seminary (Petit Séminaire) in Auch. He has published on mollusks, botany, and entomology, and wrote an autobiography.

In 1861 he became an honorary canon. Some initial descriptions come from him, such as the bellied diaper snail , Cochlostoma nouleti and Cochlostoma crassilabrum .

His collection of Conchylia is in the Natural History Museum of Toulouse .
