Margrit Brückner

Margrit Brückner (born in Rinteln in 1946 ) is a German sociologist with a habilitation and a retired professor at the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences . Her publications on the work of women and girls' projects and especially on violence against women are part of the basic literature in these areas. Another focus is on her contributions to the international debate on care work .

Life

Margrit Brückner studied sociology from 1966 to 1972 in Mainz , Frankfurt and at the London School of Economics . In 1979 she was appointed professor for sociology and women's studies at the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences. After a two-year research stay at the Institute for the Study of Social Change at the University of California at Berkeley she received her PhD in 1983 with a thesis on the love of women - about the relationship between femininity and mistreatment of Dr. phil. at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main . In addition, she trained as a group analyst and supervisor . In 2000 she also completed her habilitation in Frankfurt and received the venia legendi in sociology. In research projects she sat a. a. with care work and care networks as well as the life situations of women in the field of sexual services. Since her retirement in 2012 she has been a lecturer at the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences.

Together with Monika Simmel-Joachim, she has been chairman of the " Domestic Violence " working group of the Hesse Ministry of Justice since 2001 , the expert commission for crime prevention.
