Donald Hewlett
Donald Hewlett (born August 30, 1920 in Northenden , Manchester , † June 4, 2011 in London ) was a British actor .
Life
Donald Hewlett served on Orkney during World War II . He is a founding member of the Kirkwell Arts Club . Hewlett's acting work took place predominantly in television series. His career began in 1954 when he played Lincoln Green in the film Orders are Orders . He became famous in the UK for his role as Colonel Charles Reynolds in the 1970 sitcom It Ain't Half Hot Mum . He played Lord George Meldrum in the Perry-Croft sitcom You Rang, M'Lord? . He also appeared on the short-lived sitcoms The Adventures of Brigadier Wellington-Bull and Come Back Mrs Noah .
Donald Hewlett is the father of actress Siobhan Hewlett, who was born in 1983 .
