Donato Briganti

Donato Briganti (* 1939 / 1940 ) is an Italian - Dutch basketball coach .

career

 Briganti from Naples made it to the second Italian division as a player, where he played for the Libertas Maddaloni team. Briganti worked professionally as a primary school teacher, at the end of the 1960s he moved to the Netherlands, whose nationality he later assumed. In the Netherlands he played basketball with BW Zaandam before quitting because of an injury. He worked as a coach in the country, among others for the first division club Tonego Haaksbergen. He coached the ODB Recklinghausen second division women from November 1996 . Briganti led Recklinghausen to promotion to the Bundesliga in 1999 and looked after the women there until 2001. In the 2000/01 season, he advanced to the Bundesliga semi-finals with Recklinghausen. In addition, he came with Recklinghausen in the German cup competition twice during his tenure in the top four. In the youth field, he led the female A-youth Recklinghausen in 2001 to win the German championship.

He was then in the 2001/02 season coach of BG Dorsten in the women's basketball league, but there was a separation between Briganti and the club in the course of the year. He trained at RC Borken-Hoxfeld, in the 2002/03 season he was temporarily coach of the regional league men of ODB Recklinghausen. He was a coach at TV Ibbenbüren and looked after the men's team of SG Telgte / Wolbeck, later he coached Recklinghausen's women again, now in the regional league.

Until 2018 he coached the women of Arminia Ochtrup, then in the season 2018/19 the women of BSV Wulfen .
