Danube transition cross

The Danube Crossing Cross ( Romanian Crucea Trecerea Dunarei ) was donated on March 23, 1878 by Prince Carol I with Decree No. 617 and could be awarded as an award of merit to all Romanian military and civilians who were involved in the war against the Ottoman Empire Reich on the right side of the Danube had participated. The cross was also given to members of the allied Russian armed forces .

Appearance

The award is a blackened iron manufactured re-cross , in the medallion, the surmounted by a crown mirrored cipher of the founder C (Carol) takes place. In the reverse the year 1877 , with the inscription TRECEREA (above) and DONARII (below).

Carrying method

The award was worn by military personnel on a dark red ribbon with a black side stripe, and by civilians on a black ribbon with a dark red side stripe on the left side of the chest.

Others

By decree of October 27, 1939, King Carol II supplemented the provisions and decreed that if the living holder of the cross had been an active officer , the right to wear the decoration was transferred to his eldest son or brother after his death. For this purpose, the clasp with the inscription TRADITIE was attached to the band .
