Danube Forest Group

The Danube Forest Group was a loose association of visual artists who lived and worked in the area or the catchment area of ​​the Bavarian Forest .

The group was formed shortly after World War II in 1946. Despite all the stylistic divergences, the artists felt united in their attribution to classical modernism .

The notary Franz Schmidinger organized their first exhibition in Grafenau in East Bavaria in 1947 .

In 1990 the group disbanded.
