Doomster Reich is a stoner-doom band from Łódź founded in 2014 .

history

Doomster Reich was founded in Łódź in 2014 by singer and drummer Rasz together with guitarists Jakub Walens and Wojciech Piekarniak and bassist Radosław Wojciechowski. After Piekarniak left the band in 2014, Rasz took over the second guitar for drums and vocals. In the first few years the group released an album with The League for Mental Distillation in 2014 via The End of Time Records and an EP with Let Us Fall in 2015 . Both publications received little international attention, but were mostly discussed positively. Meanwhile, the group first performed in their hometown in 2015.

Another EP, Seven Seals , was released in January 2017 , which, like Let Us Fall , was self-published exclusively as a download via Bandcamp . Appearances continued to take place only sporadically and on a small scale, including a regional tour with Hellvoid and Cowshed . However, the band signed a contract with the British independent label Aesthetic Death Records for the release of the second album Drug Magick . The album was released in October 2017 and received international attention and recognition. The following third studio album How High Fly the Vultures was published again in 2018 as a self-published download. Despite the critical success of the previous album, How High Fly the Vultures failed to attract international attention .

style

The style played by Doomster Reich is described as Doom Metal and Stoner Doom. The music presented is also compared with that of popular genre greats such as Black Sabbath , Saint Vitus , Bedemon , Pentagram , Candlemass , Bongzilla and Electric Wizard .

The music is described as guitar-dominated Doom Metal which emphasize "[a] excellent grooves " with "dirty riffs [and] spacey vibes ". The guitar playing, which is the focus of most reviews, is sometimes described as "brutal and brute" with frequent use of the wah-wah effect. The vocals, on the other hand, act spherically, fade away and swing, while the rhythm instruments, electric bass and drums, push and pull the music with its "structure and form".
