Double flat steel post

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The double flat steel post is a railing post and forms the static load-bearing element of a railing for the transfer of the (stile) load from the railing handrail to the attachment to the load-bearing element (ceiling edge, stairs, balcony, etc.).

description

Due to the construction with double flat steel posts per post, the double flat steel post is more stable than the single flat steel post. In order to meet the static and building law requirements, a double flat steel post can be constructed with smaller cross-sections compared to the simple flat steel post. The building regulations are regulated in accordance with DIN standard 18065, state building regulations LBO and UVV (accident prevention regulations). Double flat steel posts are suitable for all types of railing uses with a post spacing of more than one meter. In modern architecture , the double flat steel post has established itself as a technically high-quality style element in railing construction.

Manufacturing

The double flat steel post can be produced in the conventional way as a welded construction, as well as by means of statically dimensioned compression fittings of the railing cross bars with the post . The cutting, as well as the necessary bores and millings, can be done in a single operation using 5-axis CNC machining centers, in addition to individual machining. Materials of the double flat steel post can be: steel , stainless steel or aluminum . The railing infill can be designed flexibly from vertical or horizontal filler bars, architectural ropes, glass panes (straight or curved), perforated sheet and much more

Advantages of the compression fitting

The main advantage of a double flat steel post with compression fitting is that the railing cross bars do not have to be welded to the railing post. There is therefore no risk of welding distortion. In addition, with this variant of the railing construction, a higher-quality look is achieved without the necessary weld seams. Any planned surface treatment (e.g. painting , powder coating ) of the railing can be carried out before the railing is installed.

The structure of the railing is possible in a modular way H. Prefabricated railing elements can be assembled on site. Thanks to the compression fitting described, no welding work is required during assembly.
