history

The suggestion of a village railway in Warth as a direct feeder from the village center to the nearby ski area had existed for decades. In 1996 a permit was issued under the Nature Conservation and Landscape Development Act, but subsequently not used, which is why it has expired. In 2015/2016 a new attempt was made and ultimately led to the successful implementation of this project with a construction volume of up to four million euros. The Dorfbahn finally started operating on December 22, 2017.

Technical data of the system

The detachable 8-person orbit was built in 2007 as an 8-MGD Pettneu-Lavenar lift in the Pettneu -Lavenar ski area by the Doppelmayr company in Wolfurt and put into operation. The 8-MGD Pettneu Lavenar-train was as Kombibahn designed, but was carried out as MGD, the mounting of chairs was planned, but never realized. The plant was known as the shortest 8-MGD in Austria and was shut down in 2010, when the ski area in bankruptcy went. The plant was reopened in January 2013, but the new operating company also went bankrupt after a season and the plant was finally shut down in 2014 and dismantled since May 2, 2017. The system was then set up again in Warth (Dorfbahn Warth).
