The village chapel of Braunetsrieth is located in the middle of the district of the Upper Palatinate town of Vohenstrauß (house no. 20). The chapel is dedicated to the Mother of God .

history

The construction came about through a donation of the building site from 1872. It was built by the master builder Meindl from Altentreswitz and consecrated on August 26, 1873 by the clergyman Josef Frank von Vohenstrauss. In 1913 it was restored by the master painter Steininger. A fire damage from 1920 was repaired by the community. The electrification in 1972/74 was financed by the Braunetsrieth hunting association. In 1983/84 the chapel was repaired and on May 6th 1983 it was blessed by the parish priest Franz Xaver Reitinger.

Church building

The chapel has a pitched roof and a choir closed on three sides . The gable rider is equipped with a pointed helmet . The (interior) furnishings are neo-Gothic . The main altar is dedicated to the Mother of God. Above the entrance door there is a figure of a Infant Jesus from Prague .
