description

On the road from Füramoos to Hummertsried you reach the hamlet of Adelshofen via a junction on the K 7930. There is one of the most extraordinary chapels in the Ravensburg district in a depression in the middle of the village. The baroque oval building was built between 1760 and 1770, has a walled-up bell cage on the west side and high bass violin windows. That with beaver tails covered gable roof walmt eastward into uncollected apse . There are several rows of knee benches on the tiled floor, which has no basement . In 2009, three families adjoining the property on their own initiative , with the support of the city of Bad Wurzach, repaved the forecourt in front of the chapel. The chapel is on a private parcel .

Furnishing

There are three votive pictures in the chapel .

Our Lady Altar

The Marian altar is made of wood and has been marbled. The crowned Mother of God has a scepter in her right hand and the child on her left breast. The figure is 83 centimeters high and probably from the 15th century. A rosary was hung around the Mother of God, a souvenir from a pilgrim from Einsiedeln . Fifteen rosary secrets from the 18th century, painted in oil on wood, frame Our Lady. Furthermore, on the side panels there is a post-Gothic 69 centimeter high Anna Selbdritt and an equally high, rustic-style Saint Leonhard from the 17th century. Above the entablature there is a 43 centimeter high statue of St. Sebastian and a 37.5 centimeter high statue of St. Anthony of Padua. The extract shows a copy of the vera effigies with the head of Christ.

Statues

St. Sebastian

There are three statues in the church. The 114 centimeter high Man of Sorrows dates from the third quarter of the 16th century. The sculptor is unknown, but is likely to come from Hans Multscher's environment . A Saint Sebastian from the Zürn school is 107 centimeters high and dates from the third quarter of the 17th century. The specialty of the wooden figure is that there is an arrow in the forehead . There is also a 39 centimeter high Pietà in the chapel .
