The Caaschwitz village church is the church of the Caaschwitz community in the fulfilling community of Bad Köstritz in the Greiz district in Thuringia . It belongs to the parish Crossen in the church district Eisenberg of the Evangelical Church in Central Germany .

history

On June 21, 1295 Northwest originated from Bad Köstritz the manor Caaschwitz , the which Gutskirche received. The donor coat of arms above the church door is marked with the year 1718. The property was later transferred to the von Schauroth family , who had the church built in 1750/51 as a baroque building on older parts. There are ten coffins from this family in the crypt . Their descendants supported the parish.

architecture

This church with a square east choir floor is equipped with splendid double galleries. The glazed mansion gallery is on the south side. The pulpit with sound ceiling and attached gable dates from the time the first church was built. In the hall there is a late Gothic winged altar from the 15th century and a crucifixion group from the beginning of the 16th century.
