Village church of St. Viti zu Döllnitz, 2012

The foundation stone of the village church in Döllnitz was laid on September 12, 1712 on the edge of the village square of Döllnitz near Halle (Saale) ; its construction was largely completed with the installation of the dome on July 29, 1715. It is a simple baroque church .

The nave has dimensions of approx. 17.3 by 8.6 meters with a tower (basic dimensions 6 by 7 meters), which is executed on a rectangular floor plan up to the church roof, then merges into an octagonal floor and ends with a tail hood . Next to the side entrance to the church, an extension was built as a burial place for the donors. Another entrance is at the tower.

The furnishings include a pulpit altar (carved, approx. 1720) on the east side, a horseshoe-shaped wooden gallery and a wooden patron's box , which can be reached via the extension. Behind the altar is the sacristy . The gallery is decorated with 30 pictures with motifs from the Old and New Testament. The organ is built into the tower open to the nave at the gallery level.

In front of the altar is the grave of Countess Helena Christiana von Truchseß zu Waldburg.

The church has a barrel vault that is adorned with paintings, some of which were created directly on the wood of the vaulted ceiling and some on a plaster base. It belongs to the parish area Dieskau in the parish of Halle-Saale district of the Evangelical Church in Central Germany .
