Willy Schleunung

Willy Schleunung (born May 8, 1917 in Würzburg ; † April 14, 2007 in Marktheidenfeld ) was a Bavarian book printer owner, association official and politician .

education and profession

Willy Schleunung attended the vocational and technical school for book printers and passed the assistant examination in 1936 and the master craftsman examination in 1955. From 1937 to 1945 he did military and military service. After the war, he founded the Willy Schleunung printing company in Marktheidenfeld in 1946. Today the company is run by his son Christoph Schleunung under the name "Schleunungdruck".

Association activities

Willy Schleunung was involved in the Federal Association of Printing : In 1955 he became chairman of the Lower Franconia district, 1961 deputy chairman, 1973–1993 chairman and 1993 honorary chairman of the Association of the Bavarian Printing Industry. He was a member of the Presidential Council of the Federal Association of Printing.

In the Chamber of Commerce and Industry he was deputy chairman of the social policy committee, member of the board of the VAB, until 1986 member of the executive committee and chairman of the vocational training committee of the IHK Würzburg-Schweinfurt. From 1976 to 1982 he was a member of the professional and education committee of the DIHT and chairman of the representative assembly.

politics

Willy Schleunung was a member of the Bavarian Senate for the Industry and Commerce group from January 1, 1978 to December 31, 1995 . In 1994 he was a member of the Presidium of the Senate and age president.

Other offices

Willy Schleunung was a deputy member of the Board of Trustees of the Bavarian State Foundation from 1980 to October 29, 1981, and a full member from October 29, 1981 to December 31, 1995 . From 1985 to March 26, 1992 he was a member of the Media Council.

Honors

In 1958 Schleunung was honored with the Federal Cross of Merit on Ribbon, in 1972 with the Bavarian Order of Merit , in 1987 with the Bavarian State Medal for Social Merit and in 1982 with the Great Cross of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany.

In 1993 Schleunung received the Ullstein Prize in Berlin, the highest award in the German printing industry, to honor his socio-political commitment.
