The church

The Dienstedt village church is located in the southern part of Dienstedt , a district of the city of Stadtilm , on a sloping terrain in the north of the Gottesacker in the Ilm district in Thuringia .

history

Dienstedt is the oldest place in the Ilm district and was first mentioned in a document in 842. It can be assumed that a church or a chapel will soon have been built. Today the church is given as responsible for the community Dienstedt-Hettstedt. In the other towns of Kleinhettstedt and Großhettstedt there is also a church with a cemetery. These villages were united on June 1, 1996 to form the community Dienstedt-Hettstedt with other places ( Oesteröda , Barchfeld and Breitenheerda ) and church for care.

To the church itself

The church tower has a pointed roof with the tower clock , the tower ball and the weather vane . There are three square windows on the side walls of the nave and two on the curved front side. The altar is from 1513. The church has a slated hipped roof with dormer-like skylights .
