The village church Eckmannsdorf is a monument in the Niedergörsdorf district of Eckmannsdorf in the Teltow-Fläming district in Brandenburg . The church is located north of the village road in the middle of the homesteads and west of the Angers. In the south, facing the street, the former churchyard is bordered by a wall. A war memorial is integrated into this wall, the wall curves around the memorial to the north. North of the church is a copper beech. The church belongs to the parish office Blönsdorf in the church district Wittenberg.

history

The original church was probably built at the beginning of the 13th century. Of this building, however, only one window in the west of the north side has been preserved. The portals on the south side can only be recognized by other rows of stones in the masonry. In the late Middle Ages, the roof structure was renewed, the woods used for this date, according to a dendrochronological examination, from the years 1371 to 1374. The rafter construction was reinforced in 1733 by a double standing chair, the woods were also examined dendrochronologically. After the year in the tower's weather vane, it was added in 1696. The tower was renovated in 1790.

A renovation took place in 1835. The windows were changed, these measures changed the appearance of the church significantly. This year the gallery was enlarged and the organ was installed. Further renovations or changes took place in 1899, 1961 and 1974 to 1975. In 1961 the tower was renewed, from 1974 to 1975 the main fittings of the church and the ornamental fittings were removed.

The church

It is a hall church with an apse , the apse is only slightly drawn in. It was built from field stone . There are larger stones at the corners than in the other walls. The apse is low with two side windows. The west tower is a half-timbered construction that is slated today. The tower is octagonal above the roof, and above it is a hood with a lantern . The tower was separated from the nave with a board wall, thus forming a vestibule.

The church is equipped with an altar crucifix from 1838. The crucifix is ​​made of cast iron and painted in color. The organ was built by Friedrich Turley in 1836 . The organ prospect is kept in the classical style. The large bronze bell comes from the Middle Ages.
