Eckmannsdorf village church

Eckmannsdorf is a district of the municipality Niedergörsdorf in the district of Teltow-Fläming in the state of Brandenburg .

history

The origin of the place first mentioned in 1354 as Ekkerstorf is unknown. The church still preserved today was built in the first half of the 13th century. The road from Jüterbog to Zerbst led through Eckmannsdorf . For this reason, a customs post for the Saxon electors was located here .

The Eckmannsdorf community was incorporated into Danna on July 1, 1950 .

The place

Eckmannsdorf is 15 kilometers west of Jüterbog and 7 kilometers west of Niedergörsdorf. The neighboring towns are Lindow , Malterhausen , Kaltenborn , Blönsdorf , Kurzlipsdorf and Danna . The place extends as a street village in east-west direction. At both ends, the village street is widened to resemble a square. The village church is in the east of the village, north of the street. The village pond is located near the church. The building structure of the village has changed significantly over the centuries, the half-timbered houses have been partially replaced by exposed brick houses.

The place is characterized by agriculture.

Architectural monuments

Listed four-sided farm at Eckmannsdorf 7, built in 1911

In Eckmannsdorf, the village church , a homestead and a house are registered as monuments in the list of monuments.

The village church was built at the beginning of the 13th century. It is a Romanesque hall building with a semicircular apse. The church was built out of stone blocks. The lattice tower was added in 1696 and is now slated. The tower is square at the bottom and octagonal in the middle. Above it is a curved hood with a lantern. The tower was renewed in 1790, the church in 1835. Another renovation took place from 1974 to 1975, during which substantial parts of the furnishings were removed. Only an altar crucifix and the bell from the Middle Ages remain from the furnishings.

The homestead Eckmannsdorf 7 was built in 1911. The farm is located in the western part of the village on the square-like extension. It is a four-sided courtyard with a two-storey residential building. The house has seven axes and is made of yellow bricks. To the right of the house is the gatehouse. The farm also consists of a pigsty, a barn and a cowshed.

The house Eckmannsdorf 12 is part of a homestead. A gatehouse also belongs to the house. Both were built in 1877 (inscription). The facade from the construction period has been preserved.
