geography

Kurzlipsdorf is about eight kilometers west of Niedergörsdorf. The neighboring towns are Schönefeld, Blönsdorf, Mellnsdorf and Klebitz. Klebitz is a district of Zahna-Elster in Saxony-Anhalt .

The village road runs from the southwest in an arc to the northeast, around this road the village is formed. The village church is located on the outskirts on a small hill to the south-east of the street. There is a war memorial south of the village church. There was a mill at the southwest entrance to the village, which was badly damaged in a storm in 1947 and demolished in the 1960s.

Architectural monuments

There are two architectural monuments registered in Kurzlipsdorf.

The core of the village church dates from the 13th century. Kurzlipsdorf was a mother church for a long time. Today's church was rebuilt after a partial collapse. The nave of the church is short, the rectangular choir has been drawn in. The retracted tower is made of half-timbering and was built in 1768. It is clad in zinc and wears a curly bonnet with a lantern. Inside there is an organ from 1888, the organ builder was GA Friedrich from Wittenberg. The bell was cast in 1884. There are remains of an altarpiece, which was donated in 1684.

The Gasthaus Kurzlipsdorf 28 was built as a mill yard in the second half of the 18th century. The mill, which was demolished in the 1960s, belonged to the farm. The present appearance of the homestead emerged from renovations in 1905. In addition to the inn, a stable and other farm buildings have been preserved. It is one of the few inns from the 19th century that have been preserved with the hall building.
