Danna is a district of the municipality Niedergörsdorf in the district of Teltow-Fläming in the state of Brandenburg .
history
Danna was first mentioned as "Danne" or "Dhane" around 1400. The name comes from Middle Low German and corresponds to the fir . Nothing is known of an earlier story, except that there were two deserted villages nearby as early as 1528 , north of Haguenau and northwest of Dannenberg. There was a fire in the village in 1860, the church was built from 1884 to 1885 and the school in 1897. In 1912, remains of a church were found to the northwest.
On July 1, 1950, the previously independent municipality of Eckmannsdorf was incorporated.
The place
Danna is 15 kilometers west of Jüterbog and 9 kilometers west of Niedergörsdorf . The neighboring towns are Feldheim , Eckmannsdorf , Kurzlipsdorf and Schönefeld . The place is characterized by agriculture, in the center there are large four-sided courtyards. It is a street village running in a west-east direction.
The village church
In Danna, the village church , built between 1884 and 1885, is registered as a monument in the list of monuments. There were first plans for a new church building as early as 1860, but a village fire prevented implementation. In the place of the current church there was a previous building, about which nothing further is known.
Today's church building is a neo-Romanesque brick hall with a semicircular apse in the east and a recessed tower in the west. There are annexes on the tower . The walls of the church are structured with pilaster strips and arched friezes. The tower is three-story and ends with four triangular gables with a four-sided pointed helmet. The interior furnishings from the time of construction are almost completely preserved, only remnants of the altarpiece remain. Other items of equipment are a baptism, a pulpit from 1885 and the parish chairs with a western gallery. In 1967 the part under the gallery was separated as a winter church.
