Langenlipsdorf is a district of the municipality Niedergörsdorf in the district of Teltow-Fläming in the state of Brandenburg .

history

In the area of the place Yugoslav and early German finds from the 11th and 12th centuries were found. Exact research is still pending. Langenlipsdorf is mentioned for the first time in 1227. To the south of Langenlipsdorf was Kähnsdorf, first mentioned in 1216, but in 1383 it fell desolate. Until 1817 Langenlipsdorf belonged to the Vogtei or to the Jüterbog office , until 1872 to the Zinna office.

In 1577 the plague claimed 64 victims. During the Thirty Years' War the number of farmers was reduced from 14 to 9 by 1637, and by 1658 almost all farms were occupied again. During the Wars of Liberation the place was plundered and the church was used as a hospital. The war dead were buried in mass graves east of the town. These fields could not be tilled for a long time, there were too many bones and remains of weapons. In 1875 a fire destroyed 21 farmsteads, the entire western part of the village. This part of the village was rebuilt.

The place

Langenlipsdorf is eight kilometers south of Jüterbog and six kilometers southeast of Niedergörsdorf . The neighboring towns are Oehna , Hohenahlsdorf ( Niederer Fläming ) and Zellendorf . The place is dominated by agriculture, in 1954 an LPG was founded.

The village church

In Langenlipsdorf, the village church is registered as a monument in the list of monuments.

The village church was built in the second quarter of the 13th century in the Romanesque style, later it was rebuilt in the neo-Gothic style. The high quality of the brickwork is striking. It is a hall building with a square choir and a round apse. The west tower was built in 1577, it was built partly from field stone, partly from timber. The church was looted during the Thirty Years War. Between 1882 and 1883 the church was renovated. On June 23, 1882, the tower collapsed during construction work, and two workers died. Between 1995 and 1998 the church was last renovated.

Inside there is an altarpiece from the years 1715 to 1716. The baroque baptismal angel dates from 1713. The life-size carved figure was restored in 1934. The organ dates from 1883 and was created by GA Friedrich from Wittenberg. Behind the altar is a dugout chest from the late Middle Ages. The church's cash was probably kept here.
