Alexandru Gațcan (born March 27, 1984 in Chișinău , Moldovan SSR , Soviet Union ) is a Moldovan football player . Since 2019 he has been playing for Krylja Sowetow Samara in the Russian first division .

Career

Gațcan began his career with the first division club Unisport-Auto Chișinău . In 2004 he moved to Russia to Spartak Moscow . After he was used there only in the fourth division team, he moved to the second division Spartak Nizhny Novgorod in 2005 . In 2006 he went back to the Premier League , this time to Rubin Kazan . In 2008 he moved again to the second division for FK Rostov , with whom he rose to the first division in 2009 and won the relegation playoff three times in the following years. He has been team captain in Rostov since the beginning of the 2015/16 season . At the end of the season he and his team won the runner-up behind CSKA Moscow and qualified for the Champions League .

National team

Gațcan was nominated for the national team for the first time in 2005 . He made his debut in February 2005 in a friendly against Azerbaijan .
