Elsholz village church

The Protestant village church Elsholz is a sacred building in Elsholz , a district of the city of Beelitz in the district of Potsdam-Mittelmark in the state of Brandenburg .

history

The building was built in 1712. From 1796 to 1797 the parish added a west tower . A major renovation took place in 1934 and 1935 as well as in 1996 and 1997.

architecture

The nave was built with a rectangular floor plan and is plastered throughout . On the long sides of the nave there are four large arched windows that alternate with jointed pilasters . The wooden tower was built in half-timbered construction. There are two openings above the west portal and a sound arcade on each of the other sides . Above the framework, the tower ends with a tent roof , a sphere and a weather vane.

Furnishing

In the interior there is a horseshoe gallery from the 18th century. Pictures from the beginning of the 20th century were attached to the parapet. The altarpiece probably dates from the time the church was built. It was subsequently converted into a pulpit altar . Below the basket is a painting that shows the Lord's Supper . It dates from the end of the 19th century. The basket stands between two pillars decorated with acanthus cheeks , above which putti and a sun are attached.
