The village church of Gösen is in the municipality of Gösen in the Saale-Holzland district in Thuringia . It belongs to the parish Königshofen in the church district Eisenberg of the Evangelical Church in Central Germany .

location

The village church is hidden behind the first row of houses to the east of the village street towards Schkölen in the middle of the village.

history

In 1529 there was a chapel in the village , but no parish . In place of the chapel, the church that is still standing today was built in 1811 in the immediate vicinity of the manor .

From 1988 to 1990 the nave was re-covered and the walls, floor and windows renewed. On August 30, 1990, a lightning strike caused considerable damage. But the fire did not occur. The church was repainted and Eve could Christvesper be celebrated.

The interior has only one door in the western part. The pulpit altar is on the east side . There is a gallery on the north side . On the south side there was the manor's chapel .

organ

The builders are unknown. The organ is currently not playable.

Bells

Two bells in the tower were cast in Apolda in 1861 . The big bell was melted down in the First World War , replaced after years and melted down again in the Second World War .

Sponsorship group

In 1960, community and non-community members formed a support group to procure a bell . The new steel bell was consecrated on the 2nd Advent in 1963.
