Grabo village church

The listed Protestant village church Grabo is located in Grabo , a district of Jessen (Elster) in the district of Wittenberg in Saxony-Anhalt . It was built in 1913 to replace a previous building that had burned down.

The large plastered brick building in neo-baroque forms has a three-sided east end and is the replacement building for a half-timbered church that burned down at the same location. At the south-west corner of the church is a tower crowned with a tail hood and a lantern .

Furnishing

Inside the church there is a large octagonal sandstone baptism in a baroque chalice shape. Older parts of the stalls are dated to around 1700 and are located under the galleries. Further furnishings include a pulpit altar with winding columns , four glazed priechen and a three-tower organ front . A baroque lecture cross dates from the end of the 17th century . The wooden ceiling rests on haunches . The painting of the church was done with the inclusion of older pieces of equipment.
