The Protestant village church Graitschen auf der Höhe is located in the Graitschen district on the level of the town of Schkölen in the Saale-Holzland district in Thuringia . The community belongs to the parish Camburg-Leislau in Kirchenkreis Eisenberg of the Evangelical Church in Central Germany .

history

In 1717, pastor J. Chr. Freisleben built a cemetery chapel and cemetery in the remote village in order to avoid the arduous burial path from the place. Because the pastor had enforced the construction without permission from the authorities, he was transferred to Ronneburg as a punishment.

The chapel was converted into a church . It was equipped with a simple pulpit altar and baptismal font .
