history

North-east corner of the church with the inscription "Erhart vonn End"

The two-bay, flat-roofed hall church with a closed choir was completed under construction in 1494. The manor owner Erhard von Ende also built it as patron . In 1680 the organ was purchased and the sacristy was added to the north side . In 1891 the windows were made square. The old was thus renounced. In 1793 the church underwent a general repair and the nave was extended to the west by an annex.

The Duchess

From 1795 the Duchess Dorothea von Kurland resided in Löbichau. This village church became their house church . The prayer room was in the sacristy. This lady donated a new Poppe organ from Stadtroda to the church . She was spared in both world wars. The original prospect pipes still adorn the organ today.

When the Duchess died in 1821, she was buried in the grove . In honor of this woman, a relief image was placed in the heart niche.

In 1879, the Opitz company expanded and renovated the organ, which was continued in 2006.
