The Maina village church is located in Maina, a district of Magdala in the Weimarer Land district in Thuringia . It belongs to the parish of Magdala / Bucharest in the church district Jena the Evangelical Church in Central Germany .

history

The village church is a simple rectangular building. There is a ledge in the east wall that suggests different construction phases. Modifications in the 18th century and profiles of a round arched window point to the 16th century. But it could also have been a door with a wooden staircase, in which case the time of construction would be even earlier. In the Thirty Years' War it was looted and gezündelt. There was only one farmer's cow left in the village.

The roof turret has a curved dome . Baptismal and communion vessels are from the 18th century.

Inside, unadorned galleries have been built into the wooden barrel . The simple pulpit is behind the altar table . A medieval crucifix is attached to the canopy .

Cracks in the masonry of the east wall could be removed. The roof turret is to receive a bell in the future . The small bell tower and church roof are currently the problem.

The mechanical organ made by the Eifert company from Stadtilm is still in good condition, although prospect pipes were lost in the Second World War , otherwise it is playable.
