The church

The Protestant-Lutheran village church Mosbach is in the district Mosbach of the municipality Wutha-Farnroda in the Wartburg district in Thuringia .

history

A sign in the district leads to the village church from the 17th century. Since the pastor Nikolaus was mentioned as early as 1337, it is logical to assume that there was already a church in the village at that time . Evidence is not yet available.

To the church itself

The church tower is from the Middle Ages . He could stop and the nave was added. The chancel is also in the tower.

The year 1669 is written on the sound cover of the pulpit . It is probably the reference for the renovation work at that time. The baptismal frame and the organ brochure also date from this time. The simple church has two stained glass windows with sacred motifs.

The organ

The organ dates from 1759 and was built by the Eisenach organ builder Sebastian Seitz, a former journeyman of Andreas Silbermann . It was reconstructed in 2006.
