history

In 1227, Volkmar Hain had the Romanesque church built, which had an eventful history and was occasionally facing demolition. Renovations took place roughly every 100 years. The organ was built in 1821 by the Poppe brothers from Roda . In 1917 the tin prospect pipes were removed. The more than 500 year old bronze bell was melted down. The church deteriorated more and more. The church tower was demolished in 1973 because it was in disrepair.

For the 775th anniversary in August 2002, it was possible to celebrate in the restored church. A storm covered the concrete tile roof in the same year. Now it is covered with beaver tails . A small tower now adorns the church. The bell has been ringing again since 2003, even every day.
