History, building description and equipment

South side of the church

The outwardly dilapidated Roggow Church is originally a plastered building made of field stone . It shows architectural details in brick and the remains of plastered corner pilasters in late Classicist forms from 1850. Above the west gable it has a boarded roof tower. On the windowless east side there are two recessed crosses in the wall. The stepped windows and the west portal are round-arched and show remains of Faschen . The church and the churchyard, with individual historical grave sites, are surrounded by a fieldstone wall that has only survived in remnants and is (as of 2014) heavily overgrown with bushes, scrub and grass.

The flat-roofed interior shows remains of the painting by Erich Kistenmacher from 1915 on the walls. The wooden furnishings, including the basket of a pulpit and the chairs, are probably from a renovation in the 19th century.

The only bell in the church was cast in 1854 by Carl Friedrich Voss from Stettin.

Parish

Roggow is one of eleven parish villages of the Zerrenthin village church in the Protestant parish of Zerrenthin and until 1974 belonged to the Brüssow parish of the church province of Mark Brandenburg or the Evangelical Church in Berlin-Brandenburg and then to the Pasewalk parish of the Pomeranian Evangelical Church . Since May 2012 it has been part of the Pasewalk Propstei in the Pomeranian Evangelical Church District of the Sprengel Mecklenburg and Pomerania (seat of the Sprengel Bishop in Greifswald) of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Northern Germany . Catholic church members who live in Rossow are integrated into the parish of St. Otto Pasewalk-Strasburg-Viereck, which is part of the Deanery of Western Pomerania in the Archdiocese of Berlin .
