The church

The village church Rutha is located in the center of Rutha in the Saale-Holzland district in Thuringia .

The single-nave church, built from 1840–1842 according to a design by Carl Georg Kirchner from Weimar , is a well-proportioned, stone-faced square building in the arched style . The west facade with the main entrance is divided into three axes and two floors. There are arched windows on the long sides .

On the retracted, square church tower is a plastered, octagonal structure with a lantern and clock .

Inside there are two-storey galleries in a wooden barrel above the central room.

The parish belongs to the Jena parish of the Evangelical Church in Central Germany .
