history

Nothing has been handed down about the origins of the Thiemendorfer Church. Traces in stones and on walled-in panels refer to the 13th century. There is also said to have been a chapel here. Illegible inscriptions in wall stone indicate earlier times. Perhaps the chapel and the cemetery were used by Timo Castle .

The altar and pulpit were redesigned in 1817 for the three hundred year Reformation Festival of the community of Ahlendorf . Ahlendorf and Thiemendorf once belonged to Walpernhain church . The branch church and the cemetery in Thiemendorf were closer and were then preferred by the Ahlendorf residents. In 1852 the church was completely renovated. The walls were torn down and rebuilt. The altar , the galleries and the stalls were also given a new look.

The organ

The Böhme company from Zeitz built the organ in 1801 and also installed it. In 1980 it was replaced by a new organ from the Rudolf Böhm company from Gotha , which has seven registers , a manual and a pedal .

Cenotaph and baptismal angel

The memorial of the fallen and the valuable baptismal angel were created or redesigned by the Thiemendorfer artist Selmar Werner .
