Wallichen village church
The Protestant village church Wallichen stands within a cemetery in the Wallichen district of the city of Erfurt in Thuringia on the Way of St. James from Görlitz to Vacha . The parish belongs to the parish Vieselbach in the parish of Weimar of the Evangelical Church in Central Germany .
history
The village church was first mentioned in 1241 . Parts of the current church date from 1653. The church tower dates from 1739, which is also confirmed by the year on the weather vane . The nave , clad with sandstones , is a half-timbered building on the solid foundation walls of the predecessor.
The interior, kept in a simple baroque style , remained essentially unchanged. The pulpit altar dates from the 18th century, the large crucifix from the 16th century. Two bells purchased in 1740 were melted down during World War II . The organ from the 19th century from the company Eifert from Stadtilm is still intact.
A church building association founded in 1997 dissolved again in 2007.
