The village church of Wichmar is located in the municipality of Wichmar in the Saale-Holzland district in Thuringia . It belongs to the parish Dorndorf-Eckolstädt in Kirchenkreis Eisenberg of the Evangelical Church in Central Germany .

location

The church stands on a hill in the eastern Saale valley and towers above the surrounding area.

history

The church was built in 1732 . Your nave is protected by a mansard roof . The onion dome on the east side is equipped with slate .

Furnishing

The baroque style continues inside the church. In addition to the plait style pulpit altar , two galleries with tendrils and flower decorations stand out, as do the stalls from the 18th century. On the west side is on the second Empore the organ installed. The ceiling above the organ is in danger of collapsing, which is why the gallery has been expanded. The upper ceiling between the side galleries is designed as a barrel .

The bronze bell from 1732 is rung manually. The tower clock can be wound.

The planned church renovation should start in 2013.
