Sister Doris Engelhard (* 1949 in Middle Franconia as Walburga Engelhard ) is a Bavarian master brewer and nun in the Mallersdorf monastery in Mallersdorf-Pfaffenberg .

Life

She grew up in Herrieden near Ansbach , and when she was thirteen, she went to boarding school at Mallersdorf Abbey in 1962 . There she graduated from secondary school in 1966. In 1967 she began her training as a brewer and maltster . In 1969 she passed the journeyman's examination at the state Ferdinand von Steinbeis School in Ulm. During her time as a journeyman, she worked for a large secular brewery in Saarland for seven years.

In 1971 she entered the order of the Poor Franciscan Sisters of the Holy Family in Mallersdorf as a novice and made profession in 1973 , taking the religious name Doris. Perpetual profession followed in 1980.

Sister Doris has been Lower Bavaria's ambassador since June 2014.
