Doris Langer , b. Doris Walther (born September 29, 1938 in Weißenfels ) is a former athlete from the German Democratic Republic (GDR). At the European Championships in 1962 , she finished fifth in the high jump .

After a seventh place in 1959, she won the GDR championship title in 1960 with 1.64 m. In 1962 Doris Walther qualified for the all-German team at the 1962 European Championships in Belgrade. There she was fifth with 1.67 m, six centimeters behind bronze. In the fall of 1962, she increased the GDR record to 1.71 m and was GDR champion with this height.

Since their marriage in 1962 she started as Doris Langer. In 1963 she won her third GDR championship title with a skipped 1.69 m. In 1964 behind Gerda Kupferschmied and in 1965 behind Rita Gildemeister , Doris Langer took second place in each case, and came third at the 1966 championships. In 1964 she qualified for the Olympic Games in Tokyo together with Karin Rüger and Gerda Kupferschmied. Doris Langer did not qualify in Tokyo.

Doris Langer set a total of six GDR records, the last of 1.73 m in June 1964. Her jump of 1.68 m in Jena in 1960 set Inge Kilian's all-German record . The 1.71 m in September 1962 set Ingrid Becker's all-German record . The jump over 1.73 m in Sofia in June 1964 was an all-German record for ten days, then it was exceeded as the GDR record and the all-German record by Karin Rüger.

Doris Langer started for the SC Leipzig and as Doris Walther for the SC Lok Leipzig , she is a trained industrial clerk.
