Dorota Rutkowska (born Dudek , born January 24, 1962 in Skierniewice ) is a Polish journalist and politician ( Platforma Obywatelska ).

Since 2002 city councilor, Rutkowska was deputy mayor of Skierniewice from 2006 to 2010. In 2007 she ran for the Sejm . After she was only 443 short of votes, she moved into parliament as a successor on December 14, 2010. Until 2019 she was a member of the PO. Rutkowska was last elected in 2015 in constituency 10 Piotrków Trybunalski . Four years later she ran unsuccessfully in the elections to the European Parliament and the IX. Sejm.

Life

Rutkowska worked as a gardener and trained farmers. In the 1990s she became a journalist and opened an editorial office for Gazeta Wyborcza in her hometown . She later went into business for herself and successfully founded two magazines . In 2008 she completed her master's degree in sociology at the University of Łódź .

Rutkowska is married and has two daughters.

Honors

Rutkowska was chairwoman of the Polish-French parliamentary group for many years and was appointed Knight of the Legion of Honor by Ambassador Pierre Buhler in October 2015 . Her services to the city partnership with Châtelaillon-Plage were also recognized .
