Dorothy Morris

Dorothy Ruth Morris (born February 23, 1922 in Los Angeles , California - † November 20, 2011 in Palm Springs , California) was an American actress .

Life

Dorothy Ruth Morris grew up in Los Angeles. She was the younger sister of actress Caren Marsh-Doll and the daughter of a Methodist minister. She took acting lessons from Maria Ouspenskaya and signed her first acting contract for MGM in 1942 . If she was defeated by Donna Reed for the lead role in The Courtship of Andy Hardy , she starred in films such as Seven Young Hearts , Tarzan's Adventures in New York and Thirty Seconds About Tokyo in the following years .

After she married the math professor Marvin Moffie on April 4, 1943, she slowly withdrew from acting and looked after their two children. The marriage ended in divorce in 1966. Three years later she married Roger E. Miller, a pastor. The marriage ended in divorce in 1972. Morris died on November 20, 2011 at the age of 89. She donated her body to science.
