Doteng ( Dzongkha : རྡོ་ སྟེང་ ) is one of ten Gewogs (blocks) of the Dzongkhag Paro in western Bhutan . Doteng Gewog is in turn divided into five Chiwogs (constituencies). According to the 2005 census, 1149 people live in this weight on an area of ​​193 km² in 10 villages or hamlets in around 190 households.

The Gewog is located in the northeast of the Paro district, extends over altitudes between 2350 and 3550  m and is 16% covered by forest. Most of the land that can be used for arable farming consists of wetlands , e.g. for rice cultivation, followed by apple orchards.

In addition to the Gewog administration, government institutions have a medical advice center ( Outreach Clinic ) and an office for the development of renewable natural resources ( RNR, Renewable Natural Resource center ). All villages of the Gewog are covered by the mobile network. The schools in the Gewog include two secondary schools, a lower and a higher secondary school .

There are a total of 13 temples in this Gewog, which are state, community or private property.
