Dorothy Lee "Dotsie" Bausch , b. Cowden , (born March 6, 1973 in Louisville ) is a former American cyclist .

Dotsie Bausch originally worked as a model on the catwalk in New York and fell ill with eating disorders. Part of her therapy was to exercise, and that's how she got into cycling.

From the beginning of the 2000s, Bausch was one of the best American cyclists, with success on the road and on the track . Initially, her focus was on road racing, mainly in her home country. In 2001 she finished fourth in the US Road Race Championship. In 2003 she was third in the overall ranking of the Vuelta de Bisbee , in 2005 she won the Bonsall-San Luis Rey Classic and the Tour de Murietta , in 2006 she was third overall in the Joe Martin Stage Race , in 2007 she was second in the Central Valley Classic and third in the Tour of the Gila . In the same year, she achieved third place in the individual time trial at the Pan American Championships.

Also in 2007, Dotsie Bausch was a two-time US champion, in the single and team pursuit (with Sarah Hammer and Jennie Reed ) on the track . At the UCI Track World Championships 2011 in Apeldoorn , she won silver in the team pursuit with Hammer and Reed. At the 2012 Olympic Games in London , Bausch won the silver medal in the team pursuit together with Sarah Hammer and Lauren Tamayo . Then she ended her cycling career.
