Dou Kyu Sei - In love with my classmate ( Japanese 同級生 Dōkyūsei , German 'classmates' ) is a manga by Asumiko Nakamura , which appeared in Japan in 2006/2007 with various sequels. It was translated into several languages and adapted as an anime for the cinema in 2016 .
content
The carefree high school student Hikaru Kusakabe is only little interested in learning, he is only enthusiastic about music. Serious and conscientious Rihito Sajo is the opposite of Kusakabe and top of the class. But while singing in the choir, Kusakabe notices that Sajo only moves his lips. Not because he doesn't like to sing, as Kusakabe initially thinks, but because Sajo cannot read the notes from behind. Because Kusakabe finds his classmate as he secretly practices the song. So he offers Sajo to help him sing. When he finally succeeds in singing, Kusakabe confronts Sajo: He's only practicing to impress the teacher Hara-Man. Then he suddenly kisses Sajo and runs away. When the two meet again in class, Kusakabe Sajo's presence is uncomfortable. But actually he wanted to impress Kusakabe with the singing, which he can finally admit to him.

The manga appeared in Akaneshinsha's manga magazine Opera, issue 7/2006 to 7/2007. A German translation by Verena Maser came out on Manga Cult in September 2019 . He has appeared in English with Seven Seas Entertainment and at times with Digital Manga Publishing, in French with Boy's Love IDP, in Spanish with Ediciones Tomodomo , in Italian with Magic Press and in Chinese with Sharp Point Press .

Anime movie
In 2016 Studio A-1 Pictures made an adaptation of the manga as an anime film. Shōko Nakamura directed the production and wrote the script together with Akemi Hayashi . The character design comes from Akemi Hayashi and the artistic direction was with Chieko Nakamura . The music was composed by Kōtarō Oshio . The closing song Dōkyūsei was composed by Kōtarō Oshio, texted by Yuki Ozaki from the band Galileo Galilei and sung by both.
The film was released in Japanese cinemas on February 20, 2016. It was shown for the first time in the USA on May 6 of the same year, followed by the premiere in Taiwan on May 20. In 2017 the anime was shown by Peppermint Anime in Germany as part of the Akiba Pass Festival.
