Cross Cult
Cross Cult is an imprint founded in 2001 with a focus on comics . Behind this is the Ludwigsburg- based graphics studio Amigo Grafik by Hardy Hellstern and Andreas Mergenthaler, which has been producing print templates , scans , letterings and other work for various comic publishers since the mid-1990s . The trademark of the imprint are small-format hardcover editions .
History and projects
The most famous customers and projects include the entire superhero program published by the former publisher Dino Comics , the magazines Manga Power ( EMA ), Daisuki ( Carlsen ) and Tock Tock ( Ehapa ), the comic series The Simpsons ( Panini ), Star Wars (Panini) , Dragon Ball (Carlsen) and the productions of the in-house imprint.
Co-founder Mergenthaler previously worked under the label Gringo Comics with the publisher Holger Bommer in the comics sector, whereby the focus of the publications was on productions by German-speaking authors . With the establishment of the company's own imprint, productions from overseas that were previously not represented on the German market but were renowned in fan circles , such as Mike Mignola's comic series Hellboy , The Walking Dead by Robert Kirkman or the award-winning cycle Sin City by Frank Miller , were to be established. The publisher's program focuses on comics that come from the media brand of current films, TV series or video games. For some time now , the program has increasingly included novels , e. B. the new edition of the James Bond series by Ian Fleming and companion novels to various television series. Since 2008, new Star Trek novels have been published under the imprint after they were removed from the program by the Heyne publishing house .
