Douar Hicher ( Arabic دوار هيشر) is a city and a delegation with around 85,000 inhabitants in northern Tunisia . The city consists of 5 districts ( secteurs ): Ennassim , Erriadh , Douar Hicher , Echabeb and Kaled Ibn Elwalid .

Douar Hicher lies at an altitude of approx. 40 to 70 m above sea level. d. M. and about 10–12 km (driving distance) west of the state capital Tunis . The city has no connection to the Mediterranean .
economy
Douar Hicher is one of the many satellite cities of the capital Tunis, where most of the residents earn their living. In the city itself there are several small to medium-sized companies from the textile, shoe and furniture manufacturing industries, etc.
history
Until well into the 20th century, Douar Hicher was nothing more than a village ( douar ) with around 3,000 inhabitants, which, however, has experienced an enormous construction boom and an accompanying increase in population since the 1970s. The place received city rights in 2001.
Attractions
Douar Hicher has no historical or culturally significant sights. The world-famous Bardo Museum is only about 5 km to the south-east.
