The twins Heidi and Heather are talented in sport. But the two are very different: While Heather pursues a career as a volleyball player, her sister dreams of fame as an actress. Their father Larry sends the twins to another high school in order to better promote the two, where they are accepted into the basketball team because of their size. From then on, the twins finally realize that they can only succeed as a team.

Based on a true story, Double Teamed portrays the impressive rise of WNBA basketball players Heidi and Heather Burge, also known as the world's greatest twins. For this, director Duwayne Dunham had the leading actresses Poppi Monroe and Annie McElwain train vigorously. The result: an entertaining, exciting and lifelike film - also for non-athletes.
