Dover was a Spanish rock band .
history
Dover was founded in 1992 by the sisters Cristina and Amparo Llanos in a suburb of Madrid . In 1995, Dover, influenced by the grunge scene in Seattle and especially Nirvana , released their first album called Sister , but it sold poorly.
With the follow-up album Devil Came to Me they made the breakthrough: It sold over half a million copies and made them known in Spain. The following albums also sold well: I Was Dead for Seven Weeks in the City of Angels , recorded in Los Angeles , hit the top of the Spanish charts straight away in 2001, and the group became last but not least in other parts of Europe, especially in Germany through touring, increasingly popular. The group's supporting acts include Muff Potter and their friends She-Male Trouble .
With the album Follow the City Lights , released in 2006, Dover launched a musical style change. The band moved from grunge / rock to pop and used a lot of synthesizer effects on their new album . The album was produced in the PKO studios by Daniel Alcover and the band themselves. The first single, Let Me Out , reached number 1 in the Spanish charts.
In November 2016, the breakup of the band became known.
