Olga Dowgun

Olga Vyacheslavovna Dowgun , b. Beljajewa ( Russian Ольга Вячеславовна Довгун ; born September 1, 1970 in Schymkent , Kazakh SSR , USSR ) is a Kazakh sportswoman of Russian origin.

Olga Dowgun has taken part in three Summer Olympic Games so far and started there in the competition with the air rifle and three-position fight with the small bore rifle . In 2000 in Sydney she was 20th with the air rifle and reached the final in the three-position battle, where she finished seventh. Four years later in Athens , Dowgun took 12th place with the air rifle and just barely missed a medal as fourth with the small bore. In 2008 in Beijing , the Kazakh woman reached both finals for the first time and finished sixth in each case.

Dowgun is the world record holder with the small-bore rifle, with which she has been the only one to achieve 600 hits with 600 rounds in international competitions. She has won several international competitions, including the World Cup, is a multiple winner of the Asian Games , 13-time winner of the Central Asian Games and three-time winner of the 1st Spartakiad of the Peoples of Kazakhstan.

Dowgun starts for Dinamo Alma-Ata and is married to the marksman Vitali Dowgun , Olympic participant from 2008, with whom she has two children.
