Lecturer Eugene Byrd

Dozier Eugene Byrd (born November 20, 1890 in Taylor County , Georgia , † June 17, 1972 ) was an MP in the Georgia House of Representatives .

Dozier Eugene Byrd was born in Taylor County in 1890 to Addie Byrd (1851-1936) and Pickens Byrd (1867-1919). During World War I he served in the United States Army . Since May 23, 1917, Byrd was married to Mabel Gaultney (* 1899; † 20th century). Byrd's son, Garland T. Byrd , was a politician in Georgia. When the latter resigned from the Georgia House of Representatives in 1949, Dozier Eugene Byrd took up the vacant seat for his son. He then remained active as a member of the House of Representatives until 1954.
