The Dräger Foundation was founded on June 5, 1974 as a non-profit foundation under civil law by Heinrich Dräger and is based in Lübeck .

It pursues exclusively and directly scientific, non-profit and charitable purposes. The purpose of the foundation was deliberately broadly defined right from the start in order to be able to act flexibly where civil society engagement is particularly in demand. The Dräger Foundation is involved in the areas of science and research, education, sport, art and culture, monument and landscape conservation, as well as international understanding and accident prevention.

Stefan Dräger and Claudia Rohn are on the Board of Directors of the Dräger Foundation .
